Basil (Bill)'s Story
Life
After graduation from FHHS I attended New York Inst. of Technology for TV Production and worked at a TV station in Texas for a while. I decided to return to NY and worked as an employment counselor for the State while I attended NYU for my masters degree in counseling.
In 1971 I switched over to the CUNY college system as a counselor to students at NYCCC in downtown Brooklyn (now NYC College of Technology), where I worked for over 30 years, achieving a Ph.D. from NYU and becoming a professor in the process. Happily married for almost thirty years to Carole Ann Bermudez, I have three grown children. We lived in NJ (Hightstown area) from 1977 to 2001, during which time I traveled into Bklyn for work. LONG TRIP! MANY YEARS! Even though I loved my career, I knew when I was ready to retire from the college and we relocated to the gulf coast of Florida, about an hour north of Tampa.
We love it down here and enjoy visits from our ever-expanding multi-cultural family and friends.
